Walking passed the dorms, i noticed a large red pipe coming off one of the side buildings in a concealed alleyway. I captured the unique noise the pipe was making by putting my microphones inside the pipe. Listen to the result here.
On the opposite side of the Klotche center is where i captured this next recording. As i was recording runoff from the roof, people passed by. The heels especially allow you to observe the people going by. Listen to the recording here.
As i followed the path away from Downer Woods, i came upon some men loading boxes onto carts and taking them into the parking garage at the dorms. Listen to them work here.
I recorded the sounds of water and wood as i passed through Downer Woods. The wood breaking and the water flowing creates a pleasant contrast. Listen here.
Right off the bat I had good luck. As I walked across the street to the woods next to the klotche center, i herd Canadian geese honking. Listen to the clip here.
I am going to start my drift in my house, across the street from the Klotche center. My mark on this drift is Oakland Gyros. My drift doesn't have a traditional strategy, but i think it would be interesting to take an everyday walk, analyze the sound, and be able to capture it. Also, hearing the sounds and picturing the walk in my head will be refreshing.
